Satvinder Bhenjee you are so right!
oh yeah Moraakh like me never realizes this most of the time.
I am not sure of the difference between tuk and pankti, but I think tuk is the complete sentence from beginning.
We can search the shabad from tuk tatkara if we are sure of the exact starting of the tuk
Pankti usually refers to shabad when sung by ragies
Some ragi may sing it in such a way you'll not be sure of the exact starting word of thr tuk but still in kirtan it may be right
e.g. if above tuk is sung in this way:-
then we refer to it as pankti
well interpratation of this Murakh could be wrong.
bhul chuk maaf
ps- thank you Msingh ji for helping me out with gurmukhi fonts
sorry Satvinder I should have checked it before commenting. This is the correct explaination:-
Tuk is a complete sentence having a complete meaning. It comprises of all the words between two fullstops(viram).Whereas Pankti is the line. There are 19 lines(pankties)on each page of SGGS.The tuk:-
is the pahili pankti(1st line) on ank-670(page no-670).
I am sorry for giving wrong information earlier, i shouldn't have acted so irresponsible.
