Paapi's Visit to Bangla Sahib

Sunday, June 04, 2006

Here's a short video I took at Bangla Sahib on a recent visit this April.

video

You'll notice there were quite a few European tourists visiting at this time, and I thought it might be interesting to make a video of them making videos! Later that evening I met this cool Nihang Baba ji outside near the sarover. It was real nice and peaceful being at Bangla Sahib after a tiring day of sightseeing in Delhi. I think we Sikhs (if I may put it that way) are pretty lucky in having access to such a wonderful sanctuary like the gurudwara anywhere in the world.

By the way, the melodious kirtan is from the original soundtrack, being performed by the Ragis.

If you are pappi ( I mean you are not pappi at all- this title is reserved for people like me) than I am maha-maha Pappi!

Anoop ji, just your name suggests that no way are you a paapi. But let's not get into a debate about who is the bigger paapi.

I had similar thought in my mind when I visited Gurdhwara Sahib yesterday and for once in his presence I realized he indeed has "Mehar Pharha Hath" over us all the time. It is different story that we very often don't realize it.

satvinder ji I'm not sure why the videos aren't visible on your pc. Maybe a firewall such as Norton might be the cause (I think these vidoes might be using flash - not sure). Are you using IE or Mozilla Firefox?

Try turning off the 'mobile code control' in ZA.

It wasa good video, unlike the vidoes I made sitting in one corner, barely getting anything right :P

But the Kirtan is amazing...who are the ragis? I know your say it is from the original soundtrack but which one??

and Bangla Sahib looks spacious and airy - I've never been to any Gurudwara Sahib in Delhi :S

ss i meant to say the sound wasn't dubbed in afterwords, it's actually the ragis doing kirtan in the gurudwara - I'm afraid I didn't find out the names of the jatha, perhaps somebody else might be able to identify them.

And you're right, Bangla Sahib is airy, with a sarovar.
