Garden

It's been a while since I used my camera, so this sunday afternoon I made the strenuous journey from upstairs to the back garden and took a number of photos in macro mode. I've picked out some of the good one's to share with you.

In case you're wondering, I've tidied up some of the pictures by cropping them to centralise the subject, but otherwise they are 'raw'. Apart from the one of the stinging nettle leaves, I'm afraid I don't know what any of them are called.

You can click on the picture to view them in larger size

I think this one in particular looks good bigger size

Forgot to say, I was probably more scared of the bumble bee than it was of me.

Nice pictures - macro mode is so cool. I wish I'd discovered it sooner than I had. I like the way the bee stands out so well against your flower.

Hari Singh - I find that bee's seem to ignore the camera and will carry on regardless - if they don't want to hang around they won't and if they do - then they do ;-)

For instance in this picture (http://www.flickr.com/photos/solarider/30714758/) the bee was just carrying on without a thought to me being practically in it's face. Just as well it didnt take offence to that!

It's probably getting to the wrong time of the year - but you might still be able to capture some yourself if so inclined. It's surprisingly easy.

I've just been looking at your rather good squirrel pictures SS.

You sure this not your secret army to start the revolution? In a couple of the photos they even seem to be doing ardas!

lol - yeah the old praying squirrel :-)

I actually got one of a squirrel trying to jump up at me - must upload that as well.
I actually think they recognize me when they see me - or they smell goodies ;-)

Just for you ;-) I uploaded some more recent ones. I think that's pretty much all my good squirrel shots now - but I should rummag around.

I've put a link and a shot up on my blog at http://solarider.org/blog/?p=273 which then links into my squirrel picture set.

Enjoy
