Don’t keep it to yourself

Often when we are scouring the internet for some missing fragment of elusive information we come across other cool stuff which we might make a mental note of, or sometimes get totally sidetracked. Rather than than keep everything to myself I’ve decided in accordance with the principle of ‘wand ke shakna’ to share some info with you.

Need to send large files which your emailer cannot handle?

Dropload is a place for you to drop your files off and have them picked up by someone else at a later time. Recipients you specify are sent an email with instructions on how to download the file. Files are removed from the system after 7 days, regardless if they have been picked up or not. You can upload any type of file, mp3, movies, docs, pdfs, up to 100MB each! Recipients can be anyone with an email address

Nifty keyboard shortcut

I suspect most bloggers have loads of windows open when they are surfing or working on their blog. What do you do if you need to access the desktop to look for that file you thought was saved there, do you close all your windows one by one? Here’s a nice little shortcut: Hold down the windows key and press D, to get back to where you were hold down the windows key and press D again.

Inteligent browsing?

According to their website, “StumbleUpon is an intelligent browsing tool for sharing and discovering great websites. As you click Stumble!, you'll get high-quality pages matched to your personal preferences. These pages have been explicitly recommended (rated I like it) by friends and other SU members with similar interests. Rating these sites shares them with your friends and peers – you will automatically 'stumble upon' each others favorites sites.”

Best way to find out is to give it a go - I’ve found it quite an interesting (sometimes useful) way of surfing.
