Anyone for Refreshers?

The other day I came across a a roll of Refreshers sweets that I had bought several months ago. Having a sweet tooth, it wasn't long before I was contentedly eating them. Here's a shot of two of the culprits before they got consumed:

On a serious note, many sweets cotain egg, so it's worth checking the ingredients before indulging. Anyway, "sweets aren't good for you!", I hear you say. And whatever happened to shakar and ghee on roti?

Shakkar and Ghee on roti.....you are the culprit now and I'm gonna blame it all on you when mom complains for my weird cravings at this hour :P

Those culprits look too tempting - although they were never able to entice me until this picture :)

And I thought Ghee Shakar was outdated.
How mistaken I was!
Sikhi Seeker no Mom ever complains for genuine demands of kids.Mention of Ghee Shakkar on Roti makes anybody Hungry.
Sweets HAVE become bad for us 'cos of our sedentary life style. If we do A lot of physical work ( specially in Young age)sweets won't harm us.

What is Happiness?
Happiness is contemplation of the essence of the soul.

Hope and desire are entrapments, O Siblings of Destiny. Religious rituals and ceremonies are traps.
Because of good and bad deeds, one is born into the world, O Siblings of Destiny; forgetting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, he is ruined.
This Maya is the enticer of the world, O Siblings of Destiny; all such actions are corrupt. ||1||
Listen, O ritualistic Pandit:
that religious ritual which produces happiness, O Siblings of Destiny, is contemplation of the essence of the soul.

seek I wouldn't classify cravings for shakar as weird, as Upinder says I'm sure your mom would fully support you in your quest.

Upinder ji you've sussed me out - my life style is definately sedantery.

Anoop ji thank you for the shabad. I have made some progress by realising that I indeed am bound by the chains of this ਮਾਇਆ ਜਗਿ ਮੋਹਣੀ (identifying the malady is part of the solution).

Satvinder ji have some jalebis while musing over those memories.

ss ji the glass jars are the best for 'our' purposes, we've got one which is ideal for storing home made ghee (well from the butter stage). I also seem to recall buying 'black jacks' on the way back from school looking forward to watching 'Topcat'.
